About the Car

  • Holden Commodore VH club sprint and hill climb car

    • Engine: 308 ci V8 (5.0 litre), balanced and blueprinted, 10:1 compression, L34 heads, Rochester carburettor, K&N Air Cleaner, extractors and hi flow exhaust

    •  Gearbox: Ford toploader, 27", close ratio, big input shaft, from big block Fairlane. Modified Hurst Indy shifter (top mounted). CRS bell housing and modified adaptor kit, Yella Terra steel flywheel, brass button clutch, custom 1 piece tail shaft. (Awaiting new input shaft from David Kee Top Loader Transmissions in Texas, should be nearly here!!!)

    • Diff: Ford 9", 3.5:1 CWP, mini spool, runs 28 spline Commodore axles.

    • Brakes: Front, VN V8 Rotors with Volvo 4 spot callipers, Bendix Ultimate Pads.

    • Brakes: Rear, VN HSV SV5000 vented rotors with Volvo 4 Spot callipers, Bendix Ultimate pads. Modified std master cylinder for 50:50 split, front to rear brake bias, with Willwod 6 position adjustable brake proportioning valve fitted to rear line.

    • Suspension: Front, Bilstein inserts revalved, adj spring platforms with 600 lb, 90mm dia springs, spherical bearing adjustable strut tops, 30mm sway bar.

    • Suspension: Rear, Koni adjustable shocks, 250 lb springs, 16mm sway bar, adj panhard rod.

    • Wheels: Holden Commodore VX SS, 17" x 8".

    • Tyres: Yokohama A032R IPRA control tyre, 235/40R17.

    • Electrics: Custom wiring loom, 6 circuits, hi-flow electric fuel pump, twin thermo fans, battery located in boot. VDO Instruments: tacho, water temp, oil pressure.

    • Interior: Marsh race seat (recovered in current Commodore cloth), MOMO race 270 steering wheel.

    • Roll cage: 10 point bolt in, steel construction.

    • Paint: VK Brock Commodore Blue. (Body work and painting is the next job on the list!!!!)
